Facebook today introduced a new search tool, called Graph Search, that lets members look for people, places, interests and photos that have been shared on the social network.

Here are answers to common questions about the new search tool.

How does it work?

Facebook will add a blue search bar at the top of its pages. It will display photos or information that has been made public or shared with you. That includes profile info and people whose city is set to “Public.” You can find photos you and your friends have posted or have been tagged in. Other users will also see photos posted on Facebook, including those hidden from timeline.
